Our approach

What to expect from an international patient coordinator

Understand what coordination includes, where clinical responsibilities sit and what to confirm in advance.

One place to organize the details

A coordinator can help collect relevant records, relay questions and arrange appointments. They can also help plan interpretation, transport and accommodation. Scope and availability vary, so ask for a written description of the support included in your arrangements.

Clear professional boundaries

Coordinators do not diagnose, prescribe or guarantee a clinical outcome. Ask that medical questions be directed to a licensed professional. If you are unclear about a recommendation, request clarification from the treating team before making a decision.

Costs and information sharing

Ask which coordination fees are separate from hospital charges and which providers you will pay directly. Understand who will receive your medical information and for what purpose. You should have a chance to raise questions before records are shared for a review.

Support through the handover home

Good planning includes how records and follow-up instructions will be provided after treatment. Confirm contact channels, availability and responsibility for urgent problems. For emergencies, use local emergency services rather than waiting for a coordinator.

General preparation guidance, not medical advice.
